A thing once broken can't be brought back to it's original form but what if it can be turned into something incredibly better and more interesting. That's exactly what we can achieve with mosaic art.
Etymologically, the word "mosaic" has a beautiful meaning, which is "of the muses". The history of this exotic art form goes back in time with artefacts and artworks created by prehistoric artists and spans all cultures. It has been all over the place for centuries in different parts of the world and has been passed down from generations. It has been reviving itself to some extent, if not much, from time and again. Although it has considerably lost it's charm in the present day India but a few artisans are still working day in and day out to keep it's spark alive.
For me, personally, it's one of my passionate projects. There is still a lot to be explored in this genre. The unparalleled beauty, class and appeal of the patterns, colours and vibrancy of an intricately designed mosaic piece is one to be sought after.
